Mr.N.Nageswaran, The promoter Director of BPCS who joined the banking services at State Bank of India in 1973 after completing his graduation in Commerce in the same year. Immediately after joining the Bank, he completed the Associate Examination by Indian Institute of Bankers ( CAIIB). From the time he joined till he left the bank to start his own venture in 1995 he, except for a very brief period of 2 years, had hands on experience in Foreign Exchange and Large Scale Advances.
Focussed in Foreign Exchange, he was also a part of Dealing Room Operations in State Bank of India, Chennai. He was very much in the midst of matters when policies that came to be known as Reforms and that changed India in 1991 more particularly the way Foreign Exchange Rules and regulations were Liberalised.
He has to his credit the privilege of being one of the four nodal officers of State Bank of India and was taking care of entire southern India ( for all four states) operations working shoulder to shoulder with RBI when highest level of restrictions were administered by RBI on Import and outward remittances when the country was left with just a fortnight's reserve of foreign currency balances. He was also, in association and under direct supervision of RBI handled Liberalised Exchange Rate Mechanism ( LERMS) and was author of many circulars which were needed to be issued during that time.
Thus the leader of Team BPCS is well versed in the genesis of the present day forex management and will be able to offer out of the box solutions to the end users, of course, remaining well within the regulatory frame work.
